Back to School Night!
October 14th at 6:30
At 6:30 I will be reviewing our schedule through a slideshow presentation. After the presentation you will have an opportunity to explore the classroom and ask any classroom based questions. This is not a time for individual conferences but I will have a sign up for conferences on this night as well. Back to School Night is for parents/guardians only and not for students. Thank you.
This week we started our first curriculum unit Farm/Harvest. Some of the concepts that we will be covering will be:
- food is grown
- farming involves many different kinds of work
- seasonal changes relate to planting and harvesting
- people and animals harvest to have food for the winter
- people celebrate harvest
Some key questions that we will be answering will be:
- How does food grow?
- What are everyday jobs on the farm?
- What does the farmer do at harvest time?
- Why do animals harvest?
- Why do people celebrate the harvest?
