Wind and Water Week 1- Jan 2-4

When we come back to school

WIND AND WATER THEME

This theme allows children explore wind and water using observations, experiments,
and books to learn more about topics such as evaporation, weather, temperature, insulation, rain, and snow

Concepts for this unit include:

  • Finding water in different forms - as rain (liquid), snow and ice (solid) and as steam (gas).  Temperature affects the form of water.
  • Water soaks into, or is absorbed by , some things but is repelled by others.
  • Wind - moving air - affects things.  Lighter things are moved a lot by wind. Heavier things are moved less by wind.  The amount of wind changes with the weather.  In storms, wind can blow very hard.
  • Plants and animals need water to live.
  • Water and wind provide opportunities for recreation.

Family Party
December 13th, 2018
at 10:15

The Lucky Ducks will perform a few songs, we will make a family craft and watch a slideshow.  Anyone special to your child is welcome, although I do not encourage taking older siblings out of school for our party.  We hope to see you there!
